Artist's Statement

As an acute observer of life in all its aspects, my art is influenced by the world around me. Currently, my passion and concentration is in my love for silhouette art which fuels my deeper creative self.

I refer to my artwork as “an outline of life”. The outline of people, objects and movement is what drives it. I capture joggers jogging, skaters skating, children playing or the amazing symmetry of a city skyline. Give me a theme, I’ll give you a silhouette.

How do I do it? Carefully, very carefully. With pencil, scissors and x-acto knife in hand, I skillfully create the shadows of a watercolor, angles of a sculpture and the sharp contrast of a black and white photograph. With silhouetting, the attention to detail, form and line are present in every unique piece and takes bold leaps at the viewers eyes.

My creativity extends in other media such as fabrics and wood, however, the endless possibilities of papercutting moves me the most at this time as I strive to bring something different to your walls. Black and white art of any media is a welcoming sight for any room.

The benchmark of my success is reflected in the complete satisfaction of my clients in the many commissioned pieces and private collections being enjoyed across the country in homes and businesses. My art is diverse and my goal is to provide my clients with original custom works that are beautiful as well as affordable.

I’d like to invite you to see for yourself.
